Hallieween is Here

A double-dose of the star of the show is coming up!

Top Plug of the Week

We’ll be talking about the widely-reviled Caddyshack II on FlopTV on our next episode (Nov 2) — tickets: $7/episode, $35 for the whole season (+ticket fees). A season pass gets you access to ALL of the episodes, including those you missed live! Following the live stream, all episodes stay available ON DEMAND for ticket holders through Feb. 2025!

Dan’s in charge of the show-opening presentation this time, and he put a lot of work into it. Too MUCH work? Arguably! You’ll have to watch to find out!

Let’s Check in with Some Past Guests!

Since all-star guest Hallie Haglund is returning to the podcast, perhaps this is a good chance to check in with some other popular guests and see what they’re up to.

Not to tell too many tales out of school, but (with the caveat that circumstances can change) we’re planning to have Roman Mars, Linda Holmes, and Max Fun’s own Jordan Morris back on the show very soon. Roman was just in NYC with Elliott to interview Robert Caro at the historical society for the 50th anniversary of The Power Broker, in association with 99% Invisible’s series covering that iconic book! Linda has a new book coming out in February, and it’s about a podcaster! Jordan’s graphic novel, Youth Group (available now), is a bona-fide bestseller!

How about some of our other previous guests? Josh Gondelman’s stand up special People Pleaser is available streaming! Gillian Flynn is reportedly writing a remake of Attack of the 50-Ft Woman for Tim Burton! Alonso Duralde literally wrote the book on LGBTQ+ Hollywood! Steven Kostanski released a little film called Frankie Freako. And Sharlene Wellington is working on opening Jiggle Studio — see her new commercial, starring Dan and Stuart.

They’re an industrious bunch! And that’s just a small fraction of our wonderful past guests. We’ll check in with more in the future!

Next on the Podcast:

Hallie on main!

10/26 - Shocktober concludes with a visit from “Star of the Show” Hallie Haglund, as we discuss Dear David — a horror movie based on the most terrifying thing of all: a Twitter thread by a Buzzfeed writer!

11/2 - We had so much fun recording with Hallie that she stuck around for the mini — one last post-Shocktober gasp of spookiness, as Elliott quizzes us about whether various movies have ghosts in them!

Hallie with her natural halo.

Boys on the Side

Elliott’s run on HARLEY QUINN started THIS WEEK with issue #44!

Most Fridays, as his schedule allows, you can find Stuart painting models on Twitch. He and Sharlene are also hosting a Marathon Party on Sunday, 11/3, starting at 8 am at their bar Minnie’s in Sunset Park, Brooklyn (along the route of the NY Marathon for spectators/supporters) with free bagels with purchase of any beverage — and that day is also the last one to support their Jiggle Studio kickstarter!

Run toward those bagels!

The most recent Dan McCoy’s Special Interests was about creativity, David Lynch, and lessons about writing! Also, I somehow forgot to link to this dumb comedy video I made, “Motivational Novelty Tombstones!”

It’s just as stupid as it looks!

Extra Credit

Elliott was on Screen Drafts with previously-mentioned FH guest faves Jordan Morris and Alonso Duralde to talk about Supernatural Kids!

You Made it to the End!

Here are some photos of the Peaches in some Halloween gear from yesteryear.
